DOC'S SPORTS: 3 Unit Pick Take Nashville (+185). Nashville rolls into Chicago after that overtime loss at Minnesota on Wednesday night and losers of their last two, before that the Predators were playing good hockey. Chicago is the young darlings of hockey and they will draw backers and at the same time create value. These two teams have a quite little rival going here and this will already be their fourth meeting vs. each other this year with Chicago losing the season series 2-1 with Nashville winning the last game on October 29th. In the first game these two played Nashville could only put thirteen shots on net, in the second game Nashville played a much better game but still was on the losing end and in the third game Nashville played solid hockey holding the powerful Chicago offense to just 22 shots. The Predators will start Dan Ellis in net, which I do like here and Nashville is playing good hockey mainly due with some of the injured players they have gotten back. To much value here for me to pass up so the dog it is.

PAT BANKS: Minnesota Wild -145. The only reason to take this game is the strong possibility that the Anaheim ownership is going to make big moves looking forward to next year, not this season. This trade talk will not motivate the franchise players. Backup that with the fact that the Ducks are 0-5 in back to back games and 0-7 on the road.

VERNON CROY: Take Minnesota ML. 3* Take Minnesota ML, This pick falls into one of my top NHL systems and the Wild are playing very tough hockey at home this season. The Ducks are just 0-7 in their last 7 games as an underdog on the road and they are just 0-5 in their last 5 games when playing on back to back days. The Wild are 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and they are 14-4 in their last 18 games as a favorite. The Wild are a red hot 11-4 in their last 15 home games and the Ducks have now dropped 3 straight games. Take the Minnesota Wild as my NHL Smash for Friday night.
